🌿 Lighten Up | Organic Botanical Oil for Hyperpigmentation, Age Spots & Uneven Skin Tone

Lighten Up is not a mass-produced product. It is an expert-level botanical skin oil formulated by Donna Cleary, a Clinical Herbalist and Registered Nurse with 13 years of experience at a Harvard teaching hospital, drawing on a hereditary Irish herbalism tradition documented to 1100 AD.

Why Choose Lighten Up?

Whole-Plant Brightening Support: Meadowsweet, skullcap, calendula, rosehip, plantain, and red grape in an olive oil base — six botanicals traditionally used across cultures to support an even, radiant complexion, targeting hyperpigmentation, age spots, sun spots, scars, and uneven skin tone through a synergistic blend of naturally occurring alpha and beta hydroxy acids, flavonoids, antioxidants, resveratrol, and vitamin C.

Organic Quality: Every batch is hand-blended using organic components to ensure full potency and purity. Just 3 drops cover the entire face — no fillers, no water, no toxins.

The Science of the Botanicals

The herbs in Lighten Up work through several naturally occurring pathways to support an even complexion:

• Alpha & Beta Hydroxy Acids: Support skin cell turnover and help fade dark spots by targeting the uneven distribution of melanin in the skin

• Flavonoids: Help stimulate collagen production and support skin elasticity and tone

• Antioxidants: Neutralize free radicals, which can stimulate melanin production and contribute to the development of age spots

• Vitamin C: Helps inhibit tyrosinase, an enzyme essential for the production of melanin

• Resveratrol: Exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and may help protect skin cells from UV radiation and other environmental stressors

A Symphony of Botanicals

• Meadowsweet: Traditionally valued for its naturally occurring salicylates and alpha hydroxy acids, known in herbal tradition to support skin cell turnover and a bright, even complexion

• Skullcap (root and leaf): Traditionally used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, known in herbal tradition to support calm, healthy skin tissue

• Calendula: Traditionally prized across cultures for its anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties, known in herbal tradition to ease irritation and support the healing of uneven skin tissue

• Rosehip: Traditionally valued for its exceptional concentration of vitamin C and antioxidants, known in herbal tradition to support collagen production and a radiant, even complexion

• Plantain: Traditionally used as a natural soothing and anti-inflammatory botanical, known in herbal tradition to calm irritated skin and support the skin's natural recovery process

• Red Grape: Traditionally prized for its resveratrol content and antioxidant properties, known in herbal tradition to support skin elasticity, protection from environmental stressors, and a youthful appearance

• Organic Olive Oil: A time-honored carrier oil prized for its deeply nourishing and anti-inflammatory properties, used to deliver the botanical compounds gently and effectively to skin tissue

A Note from Donna

I tried Lighten Up on myself before ever selling it. My dark spots were getting darker and there were more of them. After consistent daily use, my spots had faded enough that I was convinced this was something I needed to share. Apply morning and night after washing your face — consistency is everything with botanical skin care. Just 3 drops cover your whole face.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes hyperpigmentation and age spots? Hyperpigmentation occurs when the skin produces excess melanin — triggered by sun exposure, inflammation, hormonal changes, or environmental stressors. Free radicals play a significant role by stimulating melanin production, which is why antioxidant-rich botanicals are central to the Lighten Up formula.

How is a botanical oil different from a chemical peel or bleaching cream? Chemical peels and bleaching creams use synthetic acids and compounds that can irritate and thin sensitive skin over time. Lighten Up works through naturally occurring alpha and beta hydroxy acids, vitamin C, resveratrol, and antioxidants found in the botanicals themselves — supporting the skin's natural cell turnover process without harsh chemicals.

Can I use Lighten Up with my existing skincare routine? Yes — apply 3 drops to clean skin morning and evening before any heavier moisturizer. Because there are no fillers or water, a tiny amount goes a long way and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
